Shinhwa dominates on real time charts with “Venus”

Shinhwa, the longest-running idol group, has made a successful comeback by ranking #1 on various real time charts in 4 years.

The group released their 10th album, ‘The Return‘ on March 23rd, and was able to achieve first place on real time music charts such as in Mnet, Bugs Music, Olleh Music, and MelOn.

Even before the official release 30,000 albums had been pre-ordered, and as expected, the new album has been gaining a lot of interest from fans. Their title track “Venus“ was produced by Andrew jackson, who has worked with artists like Britney Spears and Leona Lewis, and the lyrics were written by member Lee Min Woo. On the MV teaser for the song, the members transformed into vampires searching for Venus, the goddess of beauty.

Shinhwa has always been known for their powerful performances, and fans are currently anticipating to see another powerful choreography for the song. According to their agency, the song “Venus” has a “fast, dreamy, and mystical feeling. The choreography for the song is extremely complicated and powerful.  The members have been practicing a lot to bring out a powerful performance similar to their past performance for ‘Brand New’“.

In 2006, Shinhwa promoted their 8th album title track called “Once in a Lifetime“, which was a ballad song, and did not really promote their upbeat song “Run” from their 9th album, which was released in 2008. Therefore, their performance for “Venus” will be the first time Shinhwa will actually dance on stage in almost 8 years.

Their first performance will be shown during their first solo concert ‘The Return‘, which will be held in the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium on March 24th-25th.
