Upcoming rookie girl group, EXID (pronounced ‘ee-ex-ID’), has delayed their debut.
EXID, a new 6-member girl group formed by the famous producer Shinsadong Tiger, was expected to make their debut at the end of this month. However, due to member LE’s leg injury, the group has decided to push back their debut until February 14th.
Shinsadong Tiger told Star News on January 23rd, “LE suffered from a light injury on her right leg during their choreography practice.” He continued, “She is preparing hard to show you an even better performance. Once she recovers in February, you can anticipate EXID’s spectacular performance.”
LE, the rapper of the group, has already been in the spotlight for her participation in Shinsadong Tiger’s first project album back in September. She cooperated with the talented Huh Gak on the title track, “Whenever You Play That Song”, which climbed to the top of music charts as soon as it was released. She has also been praised as the “female Yong Junhyung (BEAST)” by the well-respected producer.
With the exception of LE and Park Jung Hwa, the rest of the members of EXID are surrounded in a veil of mystery. Park Jung Hwa acted as the subject of love of actor Yoo Seung Ho in the music video for “Whenever You Play That Song”, and helped piqueinterest in the upcoming girl group.
Shinsadong Tiger stated, “With their ‘free-will’ concept, EXID will showcase a song and performance that incorporates the distinct talents of each individual.”
EXID’s debut single is known to have been written and produced by Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Gyu Sung, and will be released on February 14th.
