‘Phantom’s So Ji Sub, Lee Yeon Hee, and Kwak Do Won named honorary ambassadors for cyber crime prevention

The leading cast of SBS‘s ‘Phantom‘ has been named honorary ambassadors for the Cyber Investigations Unit of the National Police Agency.

On the morning of August 9th, a representative of the NPA announced, “So Ji Sub, Lee Yeon Hee, and Kwak Do Won have been inaugurated as honorary ambassadors for our cyber crime prevention program. They will be receiving the appropriate certificates for their roles soon.”

The three were actually a part of a Cyber Investigations Unit in the drama ‘Phantom’, and now they’ll be able to continue their activities off screen for a good cause. Representatives stated, “We decided to choose them as our honorary ambassadors because of their background with the drama, which covered real life issues like cyber crime, hateful replies, and hacking.”

For the next two years, the three will be working to raise awareness and the prevention of cyber crimes through the production of promotional content.

Actress Lee Yeon Hee and BoA share a sweet moment on ‘BoA 4354″

BoA recently had her comeback show on SBS TV‘s ‘BoA 4354‘ which aired on the 28th. On the show, there was a segment where BoA talked with Lee Yeon Hee in the back room.

When Lee Yeon Hee visited her, BoA greeted her by shouting “Yeppeunah (my pretty)!” Lee Yeon Hee then said, “You were getting ready for your comeback huh“, as she took out drinks and snacks she brought for BoA. BoA then asked her, “You’re going to buy it (CD) right?” Lee Yeon Hee smiled brightly as she answered, “Of course.”

When Lee Yeon Hee read a fans’ question for BoA asking, “What’s your secret to maintaining your body?” she burst out laughing as she said, “You don’t do anything to maintain your body.” BoA quickly responded by shouted out, “I exercise,” but Lee Yeon Hee revealed, “The trainer told me that you left shouting about being tired after you only did a little.”

The two stars also showed off their close friendship as BoA told Lee Yeon Hee, “I’ll buy you food if it (album) becomes daebak” and Lee Yeon Hee told her, “I’ll cheer you on.”

What’s the first thing BoA does when she gets home?

BoA confessed that she was an avid fan of Korean dramas on the July 28th episode of her SBS comeback show, ‘BoA 4354‘.

Labelmate and best friend Lee Yeon Hee asked what the first thing she did when she returned home was, and BoA replied that she watched dramas. She explained, “I loved watching ‘The Chaser‘ and watch ‘Phantom‘ as well. I watch ‘Gentlemen’s Class‘, and then pay to watch it again on repeat.”

As if to further prove that she was truly a fan of the drama, BoA visited the film set of ‘Gentlemen’s Class’ in support of SM Entertainment actor Kim Min Jong. Her visit was warmly greeted by fellow castmate Kim Soo Ro as well.

Han Ga In voted as the best female actress guest on ‘Running Man’

Han Ga In has been voted as the best female actress who guested on SBS‘s ‘Running Man‘!

On July 9th, movie sales website Maxmovie revealed the results of a poll, for which the voting was held between July 2nd and July 8th. With a total of 1259 participants, 484 (38.4%) votes went to Han Ga In, who returned to the small screen through MBC‘s ‘The Moon that Embraces the Sun‘.

Tailing behind the actress were Ha Ji Won at 2nd place with 325 (25.8%) votes and Kim Hee Sun at 3rd with 95 (7.5%) votes. Others included Son Ye Jin (6.8%), Choi Kang Hee (4.7%), Kim Min Jung (3.6%), Kim Sun Ah (3.1%), Lee Da Hae (2.9%), Lee Min Jung (2.7%), Lee Yeon Hee (2.6%), and Oh Yeon Soo (1.8%).

Model Hye Park is a huge fan of Lee Seung Gi

Model Hye Park revealed that she’s a huge fan of Lee Seung Gi.

Hye Park guested on the June 21st broadcast of tvN‘s ‘Taxi‘, and selected Lee Seung Gi as her favorite male celebrity.

“Lee Seung Gi is my ideal guy. He’s the person I like and would like to meet the most,” she said.

MC Lee Young Ja questioned, “Even when you have your husband?” Hye Park answered, “My husband knows that I really like Lee Seung Gi. It’s okay since he’s a huge fan of Lee Yeon Hee,” causing the hosts to laugh. The model added, “It’s a wish of mine to shoot a pictorial with Lee Seung Gi.”

In related news, Hye Park caught the attention of viewers as she discussed her experiences with Hollywood star Josh Hartnett, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, and Steven Meisel.

So Ji Sub defends Lee Yeon Hee’s acting

Actor So Ji Sub recently commented on his fellow SBS‘s ‘Phantom‘ partner, Lee Yeon Hee, in response to viewers’ criticism of her acting.

On the 11th, SBS’s Ilsan production center held a press conference for ‘Phantom’, in which So Ji Sub, Lee Yeon Hee, Um Ki Joon, and Kwak Do Won were present.

During the press conference, So Ji Sub stated, “There are times when I can’t understand certain responses that viewers have to certain parts of the drama. While filming scenes with Lee Yeon Hee, I don’t feel the awkwardness. However, it seems viewers seem to feel awkward watching Lee Yeon Hee’s acting. This is unfortunate because on the set, I don’t feel that Lee Yeon Hee’s acting is awkward. I hope viewers will watch with kinder gazes.”

Currently, Lee Yeon Hee plays the ulzzang cyber policewoman Yoo Gang Mi in the drama, while So Ji Sub takes charge as the leader of the cyber investigation team, Kim Woo Hyun.

‘Phantom’ is a drama concerning the cyber police and delivers an intense warning to the inappropriate use of the cyber world. It is written by Kim Eun Hee, who has also written the popular 2011 drama ‘Sign’ that started the crime drama syndrome. Her current work is now receiving public favor as well.

BoA discusses the reason behind her insecurity about her height

Singer BoA shared that one of the insecurities she has is her petite figure.

BoA guested on the June 5th episode of KBS‘s ‘Win Win‘ and revealed why she started feeling insecure about her height. She explained, “I was hurt after reading comments left on an article about me saying that I’m too short.”

“I also want to become taller. Because of my height, I was hurt even as a child and it has been one of my insecurities ever since.”

Actress Lee Yeon Hee, who made a surprise appearance on the show along with TVXQ‘s Yunho and actress Go Ara, spoke up saying, “Whenever we meet BoA, we wear shoes that have low heels.”

In related news, BoA also discussed the reasons behind why she believes she did not grow taller on last week’s episode of ‘Win Win’.

Yunho, Lee Yeon Hee, and Go Ara reveal BoA’s drinking habits

Labelmates and best friends, TVXQ‘s Yunho, Lee Yeon Hee, and Go Ara dished on some of BoA‘s drinking habits on the June 5th episode of KBS‘s ‘Win Win‘.

The three appeared as surprise guests on the show and came armed with secrets regarding BoA’s drinking habits. Yunho revealed, “She has a certain way she acts when she gets drunk. First, she gets cute. She’ll give you half moon eyes and laugh in the particular way that she does. She’ll even hit the person next to her. She has a lot of aegyo.”

When asked how clearly she speaks when drunk, Lee Yeon Hee replied, “She doesn’t mispronounce or slur her speech, but she will start talking like a baby.”

Right on the spot, BoA demonstrated for viewers by saying in an aegyo tone, “I want to drink~ more~.”

Go Ara also revealed, “When I was filming the movie ‘Papa‘, I had a lot of English lines so I asked BoA unni for advice and met up with her. She just start speaking in English with me nonstop so I thought to myself that she was doing it so I could get used to it fast. I later realized that she has a tendency to speak in English when drunk.”

Lee Yeon Hee added with a laugh, “She does that because at least you can understand her, but she knows I can’t so she doesn’t even try.”

B2ST’s Lee Ki Kwang can’t take his eyes off of Lee Yeon Hee

B2ST‘s Lee Ki Kwang has fallen head over heels for actress Lee Yeon Hee!

Actress Lee Yeon Hee made a surprise appearance on the June 5th broadcast of KBS‘s ‘Win Win‘ along with labelmates TVXQ‘s Yunho and Go Ara for the special episode on BoA.

Upon Lee Yeon Hee’s surprise entrance on the talk show, Lee Ki Kwang was unable to hide his smile as he shouted with joy. This prompted fellow host member Kim Seung Woo to question the singer, “If you have something you want to say to Lee Yeon Hee, go ahead.”

To this, Lee Ki Kwang confessed his love for her by saying, “There’s no need for words. You’re very beautiful.” He then gave her a thumbs up and said, “You’re the best.”

Still cuts of So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee on the set of ‘Phantom’ revealed

SBS recently revealed still cuts from the filming of its new drama, ‘Phantom‘, which will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays with the conclusion of ‘Rooftop Prince‘.

The filming took place in early May with main leads So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee, as well as other cast members.

Filmed on a cloudless day at a helicopter landing pad on top of a large building, So Ji Sub, Lee Yeon Hee, and Kwak Do Won showed a passion for their work despite the heat.

So Ji Sub wore a simple stylish suit, while Lee Yeon Hee dazzled with her men-inspired outfit complete with a loosely draped tie and blazer.

One drama representative praised Lee Yeon Hee stating, “She has the beauty of a ‘sun goddess’“.

‘Phantom’ will tell of the story of cyber investigators So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee, and will start airing later this month.
