Jang Jae In parts ways with agency Kiwi Music and composer Kim Hyung Seok

Singer Jang Jae In, who shot to fame through Mnet‘s ‘Superstar K2‘ and signed an exclusive contract with Kiwi Music in January 2011, is setting out on her own after parting ways with Kiwi Music and composer Kim Hyung Seok.

Jang Jae In, whose contract with Kiwi Music ends on March 30th, will be dedicating herself to music for the time being, and will be setting out to make music on her own.  The singer, who is currently attending Howon University to study Applied Music, will be striving to focus completely on her musical studies. However, she will put on street performances as well as performing on small stages from time to time.

Jang Jae In is happy with her melancholy image

Jang Jae In commented that people are surprised when they meet her.

Jang Jae In stated on the recent episode of ‘Happy Together 3‘, “I’m comfortable with the melancholy image I have. People saw that kind of vibe from me on the audition program so when they find that I have a bright personality, they’re surprised.”

The singer went on to explain that she enjoys her melancholy image commenting, “When I’m feeling tired due to traveling from promotion to promotion, there are times I perform listlessly after just waking up from sleep, but people [don't really notice], and think that’s just the way I am. That’s why I think of it in a positive light.”

The star went on to entertain the guests on the show using her native Jeollado twang and upbeat personality. She also performed a special acoustic version of “Troublemaker” by 4minute‘s Hyuna and BEAST‘s Hyunseung.

Jang Jae In reveals she rejected a guy at a club

Singer Jang Jae In appeared on the February 25th broadcast of KBS 2TV‘s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook‘ and relayed an anecdote about her first time going to a club.

She revealed, “A while ago, I went to a club. Because I was shy about anyone approaching me, I was just standing with a bottle of beer in both of my hands when I felt someone tap me and say that he would buy me a drink“. She continued, “Maybe it was because it was my first time experiencing such a thing, but he was so cool“.

However, Jang Jae In was unable to spend a lot of time with the mystery man, as she lamented, “The stylist unnis I went with told me that I couldn’t go with him because I’m famous. They said that it would make me look poor“. She continued on, confessing, “After I did reject him, I started having feelings of regret“, which brought laughs from the audience.

Also on this broadcast with Jang Jae In was her producer, Kim Hyung Seok, who impressed with his witty responses.

Jang Jae In shows off her abs

Jang Jae In has surprised netizens by showing off her hidden abs through her latest participation in the fashion magazine ‘Sure‘.

In the pictorial that has recently been released, Jang Jae In is seen wearing short jeans and a short top that exposes her abs. She especially stands out with her orange-colored lipstick and thick eyebrows.

Despite her thick makeup and revealing outfit, what caught the attention of fans was the singer’s abs which she had kept hidden until now.

Fans who caught a glimpse of the photo commented, “She sure does have a great figure“, “What great abs!”, and “She looks the prettiest when she’s wearing casual outfits.”

Meanwhile, Jang Jae In released her single album on the 8th entitled ‘None other than You.’

Jang Jae In reveals that she went on a gruesome diet for a guy she liked

In the recent episode of KBS’s ‘National Talk Show Hello‘, 20 year old singer Jang Jae In revealed the true reason behind her weight loss.

MC Lee Young Ja began by reading a story sent in by a listener, saying, “If you’re a girl, you’ve probably gone on a diet at least once. You need to be motivated to go on a diet. You go on a diet because you’ve been dumped by a significant other or humiliated in front of a bunch of people.”

Jang Jae In responded, “I also had an experience that impacted me. I liked an oppa that didn’t like me, so I lost 11 kg [~24 lbs], but [after losing weight,] I stopped liking him.”

Lee Young Jae joked, “I guess you became arrogant,” making Jang Jae laugh in embarrassment.

This episode also guest starred composer Kim Hyung Suk and Sung Shi Kyung.

Jang Jae In becomes endorsement model for Junk Art event

Singer Jang Jae In has become the endorsement model for ’The 6th Korean Zero Waste Movement Junk Art Show‘.

Jang Jae In will be joining the ranks of ‘eco-celebrities’ who have previously endorsed the event such as Lee Hyori, Gong Hyo Jin, and Choi Kang Hee. A representative from the environmental organization stated, “Because of the artistic image that Jang Jae In has formed while performing on the streets of Hongdae and Kangnam as well as through photo shoots in which she’s shown her fashionable image, she was chosen as the endorsement model.”

The singer herself commented, “I think that a true environmentalist does the little things continuously, and by starting as an endorsement model, I hope to live a truly green lifestyle.”

The event will take place in Seoul Olympic Park on November 8th.

On September 25th, Jang Jae In and Lee Tae Kwon guested on MBC’s “A Concert for the Beautiful” and sang a unique cover of SNSD‘s hit track, “Hoot“.

As the two are from rivaling programs, ‘Superstar K2‘ and ‘Birth of a Great Star‘, their duet had earned the widespread attention of broadcasting officials everywhere. For their special duet, the two composed a medium-tempo rock arrangement along with cute bow-and-arrow dance moves fit to the song.

Jang Jae In received praise for her high notes while Lee Tae Kwon followed right up with his stable vocal power.

Viewers commented, “Lee Tae Kwon is becoming cuter by the day”, “So is Jang Jae In, she’s really beautiful”, and “They’re a duet that I could never have imagined would work but they both work great together.”
