The production press conference for the KBS 2TV's new drama, ‘Nice Guy’ was held at the Intercontinental Coex Harmony Ballroom in Samsung-dong, Seoul on the 5th of September. Male lead, Song Joong Ki revealed that he shivered when he first heard the title of the upcoming drama.
Director Kim Jin Won stated, "Coming up with a title for TV series could have been a headache. For example, there are people who complain about the writing of "Nice Guy" looks like 'fried chicken man' (there are some similarity in both words in writing), so we had worked on the font of the title accurately. And also, KBS 2TV is a very representative television station, people complain about how could they misspell title, while they should be using correct wording, in fact, we decided to use this topic for a purpose. “ Kim Jin Won added, “The role, Kang Ma Ru was a very guy, however, he decided to give love a bad name and his personality changed 180 degrees and transformed into a player where he uses someone's love to get his revenge. The purpose of having this name as the title is to contradict the actual meaning, it really means that he regret of being a nice guy indeed.”
Song Joong Ki added, "When I first learned that the production decided to title the drama as 'Good Man', I suddenly felt doomed. Many people were also concerned that I might ruin the image that I have established from the role as King Se Jong (the Korea founder) in “Deep Rooted Tree” because “Nice Guy” could be considered a bad name with wrong wording.” “I thought to myself, I was not going to endorse a fried chicken advertisement, am I? But once the drama is premiere, everyone will understand why Lee Kyong Hee has such thought on picking that name as the title, I have much confidence and faith in this drama.”
The story of “Nice Guy” based on a man who got betrayed by his beloved woman, so he decided to turn into a player and use the love of another women, who has a memory loss as a tool to get his with revenge on his former girlfriend. The three will develop a series of love stories intertwined in love and vengeance. Song Joong Ki will play the role as the man who goes bad after the woman he loves betrayed him, Moon Chae Won plays the role as the coldest woman in the world who only lays eyes on Song Joong Ki, and Park Si Yeon plays the role of the woman who betrays Song Joong Ki for ambition.
The drama will be premiered on September 12th.
