It was revealed that the current ‘IT’ movie ‘The Thieves’ has surpassed the 8 million mark and has now entered the top 10 best-selling movies in Korea list at the number 10 spot.
The incredible achievement was revealed on the morning of August 10th, with ‘The Thieves’ ticket sales for August 9th numbering 245,485, and their accumulated ticket sales now standing at an impressive 8,098,952 after being on air at 754 cinemas nationwide.
After surpassing the 8 million mark ‘The Thieves’ has join the top 10 best-selling movies in Korea at the number 10 spot, following on the heels of ‘The Host’, ‘The King and the Clown’, ‘Brotherhood of War’, ’Tidal Wave’, ‘Silmido’, ‘The War, ‘National Representative’, ‘Speedy Scandal’, and ‘Friends’.
With the current trend, many are predicting that ‘The Thieves’ will soon hit the 10 million mark and beyond and inch further up the best-seller list.
‘The Thieves’ is about a team of 10 professional teams from Korea and China who team up to steal a rare and famous diamond called ‘Diamond Tears’ from a Macau casino.
Meanwhile, on the same day, ‘The Grand Heist’ bought in ticket sales of 188,752, with their accumulated ticket sales at 381,702. ‘Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King’ bought in ticket sales of 68,796, with their accumulated ticket sales at 219,502. Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ bought in ticket sales of 54,194, with accumulated ticket sales at 5,833,127.
