Jang Geun Suk clarifies cancellation of press conference in Japan

There was talk recently that a press conference for actor Jang Geun Suk scheduled for August 22nd in Japan was cancelled because of the tense relationship between Japan and Korea over The Liancourt Rocks (also known as Dokdo in Korea and Takeshima in Japan).

But Jang Geun Suk’s agency, Tree J Entertainment, has clarified that it was not the case.

Tree J Entertainment stated on August 29th that the press conference cancellation had nothing to do with the island’s territorial dispute. There were already plans to postpone the press conference even before this whole territorial dispute blew up recently.

They also revealed that the cancellation was due to some issues with the main organizer and both parties are now discussing a new date for the press conference which could be in September. But there’s no concrete date as yet.

Finally, Tree J Entertainment reiterated once again that the press conference cancellation was in the works and had nothing to do with the island’s territorial dispute.
