Figure skater Kim Yuna has become the 7th highest paid female athlete in the world.
Forbes recently released a list of the “Top 10 Highest Paid Female Athletes in the World”, in which Forbes reported that Kim Yuna made 10,200,000,000 KRW or ~$9 million US dollars just in the past year.
The full list of the highest paid female athletes includes:
1st: Maria Sharapova (Russia) – $27.1 million
2nd: Li Na (China) – $18.4 million
3rd: Serena Williams (USA) – $16.3 million
4th: Caroline Wozniacki (Denmark) – $13.7 million
5th: Danica Patrick (USA) – $13 million
6th: Victora Azarenka (Belarus) – $9.6 million
7th: Kim Yuna (Korea) – $9 million
8th: Ana Ivanovic (Serbia) – $7.2 million
9th: Agnieszka Radwanska (Poland) – $6.9 million
10th: Yani Tzeng (Taiwan) – $6.1 million
In related news, Kim Yuna, who earned a gold metal in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, is currently preparing to compete in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.
