Upcoming movie, “The Thieves” starring a-list casts, the collaboration of award winning South Korean and Chinese artists been stirring some sparks since its starting shooting. On July 10, the movie held a VIP screening at CGV cinema in Seoul; leading casts, Kim Yoon Suk, Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun and director Choi Dong Hun attended the screening.
“The Thieves” is an action movie about Marco Park (Kim Yoon Suk) gathers his old partners together in order to plot a stealing of a worthy diamond. This diamond named 'Tear of the Sun' worth a USD $20 million and been kept safely away in a casino in Macao. Kim Hye Soo took the role as Pepsy, a genius safe breaker. Lee Jung Jae played the lead of the gang named Popeye; Jun Ji Hyun played a selfish thieve, Anycall which she is expertise is to travel between buildings with wires; Kim So Hyun took the role of the youngest thief, Jampano, who joins the thief team to steal the diamond and he shows an attachment to Anycall (Jun Ji Hyun); Kim Hae Sook took the role as Chewing gum, a soon to be retired thieve; and last but not least, Oh Dal Soo played as a coward gun man, Andrew. While they were working together to steal this fabled diamond, they all have their own agenda to keep the diamond for themselves.
This is one of the most anticipating movies for this summer with everything altogether, the big cast, exciting action scenes, interlocking story, the unique personality of the characters, and added with some hilarious punch lines.
In order to take this role, Kim Hye Soo began all sorts of physical training and studied the detail of what it needs to portray herself as a thieve that is sexy and cool. It's said that Jun Ji Hyun also gave life to the role, her flexibility allows her to portray the role precisely. She turned her innocent classy image upside down and transformed into a bad girl in the movie.
The hot rookie actor, Kim Soo Hyun officially debut as a big screen actor through this movie, without pressure working with all a-list seniors, he was able to handle the role well with an attractive personality for his role as the romantic thieve, Jampano.
The movie not only focusing in the strong personality of the characters and exciting fight scene, but the plot is also very compact and fascinating. Theft strategies of the 10 thieves carried out with different heart pounding actions and skills triggering curiosity. Therefore, the movie is full of qualifications to compare to the Hollywood blockbusters such as "Spider-Man," "Batman".
“The Thieves” talks about 10 thieves from Korea and China got together and plotted to steal a fabled diamond worth USD$ 20 million. The movie will premiere on July 25th.
