Teen Top′s Chunji and L.Joe Rank Among Top 100 K-Pop Idol Stars

For four weeks in a row, starting from July 24, Mnet Wide Entertainment News Celebrity Rankings section will be featuring a fresh summer special: a list of the Top 100 K-Pop Idol Stars.

This special is the first time the individual members are officially ranked according to their own popularity, rather than their group′s.

The first episode of the show was broadcasted on Tuesday 24th of July, and it revealed all the idols who had been ranked between 100 and 74.

Surprisingly, the Teen Top members also managed to rank among Korea′s Top 100 K-Pop Idols.

Having debuted in July 2010 with the song Clap, Teen Top gained fame in a mere year and a half with the song Going Crazy, even scoring a first place win on KBS′ Music Bank.

It′s now been two years since the group′s debut, and Teen Top has only built on its fame, thanks to its most recent title song, To You. In this week’s Top 100 Idol Stars list, Teen Top members Chunji and L.Joe both took the 96th and 95th spots respectively.

Jeon Soo Yeon, producer for the Mnet WIDE Entertainment News Celebrity Rankings section, said, “These days, the focus isn’t just on the groups, it’s even on the individual members.”

“This Top 100 KPOP Idol Stars ranking list will definitely attract the attention of various industry members, music lovers and kpop fans," she added.

The Korea’s Top 100 KPOP Idol Stars Rankings list was created through careful consideration; from July 6 to 13, market research company Gallup and Mnet.com collaborated to conduct phone surveys (70 percent) and online surveys (30 percent).

Gallup and Mnet.com chose to survey people on 200 individual idols who had released more than 1 album under their own name during their career. This research results have been confirmed to be made up 100 percent by fan/voter accounts.

The full results, and the full list, will be revealed every Tuesday at 5pm from July 24th onwards for four weeks until August 14th, on Mnet Wide.
