‘One Night of TV Entertainment’ Investigates Selling of SNSD and Other Idol’s Personal Phone Numbers

A recent investigative report on idol stars and the selling of their personal phone numbers is shocking viewers.

In the July 25 episode of SBS’ One Night of TV Entertainment, the show investigated allegations that online cafes were acting as venues for individuals to sell and purchase the personal phone numbers of idol stars.

To find out, one reporter for the show was seen personally calling one of these café sites′ contacts and when asked about the SNSD members’ phone numbers the seller responded, “We have them all [the phone numbers] and each member’s number is 5,000 Korean won.”

The seller even added, “If you buy a lot we’ll give you a discount or additional numbers. If you purchase all the SNSD members’ numbers we will give you 2PM’s Taecyeon and Chansung’s numbers for free.”

Asked about how the seller was able to find the numbers, the seller shared, “We have people associated with broadcasting companies who sell them to us and there are also sasaeng fans who disclose the numbers on online cafes.”

The broadcast of the report was followed by comments from netizens who wrote, “This is truly shocking! They should be arrested”, “People who purchase these numbers are not true fans” and “These idol stars must feel so violated.”
