Ock Ju Hyun and ZE:A’s Jun Young Are Outraged at Child Sex Offenders

With more and more sex crimes happening to younger children in Korea, Ock Ju Hyun and ZE:A’s Jun Young took to their Twitter accounts to address the problem.

On July 22, Ock Ju Hyun tweeted, “’Sentenced four years for trying to rape and swinging a rock at the resistant victim.’ Just 4 years? This is why they do this. What’s wrong with our country’s laws?”

Ock Ju Hyun was referring to the recent murder of a 10-year old girl who was kidnapped and raped by a sex offender.

The same sex offender had previously tried to rape a 60-year old woman in 2005 and was only sentenced to four years in prison.



Jun Young of ZE:A also spoke up about this recent rise of sexual crimes, tweeting, “The news is going crazy with adolescent sex crimes these days. Some men must be losing their minds due to the heat. I get angry thinking about why they do such things. I bet the victims’ parents can’t even express the anger they feel right now. If the criminals switch positions with the parents, could they still do it?”

He added, “If I pass by those sex offenders on the street, I want to torture them to the point where they’ll regret what they did. No, even so, my anger won’t get resolved. If I was the parent, I wouldn’t be able to forgive them. There’s a sex offender notification application, meaning that there’s just that many sex offenders out there. What can you do to ever forgive those things?”

Netizens who have seen both singers’ tweets have commented, “I completely agree,” “The punishments have to be more severe,” and “They’ve really lost their heads.”
