Lee Min Ho Makes a Complete Transformation Into Action Star

The homepage for SBS’ Faith recently updated with new photos of Lee Min Ho filming for his upcoming drama.

Despite having to film in a black, heavy armor in the summer heat, Lee Min Ho showed a remarkable transformation as the warrior Choi Young.

In Faith, Choi Young plays the king’s bodyguard and the most skilled warrior in the Goryeo Dynasty. Lee Min Ho′s swordsmanship has already been proven on set as he showed flawless handling of his sword reflecting the amount of preparation he has undertaken for this role.

Lee Min Ho said, “I’m making efforts to portray [the sword handling] very freely as though the sword is a part of my own body. I want viewers to feel the strength of Choi Young. Since I showed a lot of action scenes in City Hunter I want, and feel a sense of responsibility, to show something greater and am practicing hard.”





Yang Gil Young, the director of the martial arts for the drama shared, “Despite the hot weather, Lee Min Ho is working hard and since we have a connection having previously worked together in City Hunter, Lee Min Ho is actively expressing his opinions too. In that respect, I believe our collaboration is better than before.” The martial arts director also promised to show a new form of action through the drama that had not been previously seen.

In Faith, Lee Min Ho plays Goryeo Dynasty’s finest warrior, Choi Young, who possesses no feelings for anything in the world including money or women. Kim Hee Sun plays the modern day doctor Yoon Eun Soo who is transported back to the Goryeo Dynasty in a fateful meeting with Choi Young.

The drama will premiere on August 13 on SBS.
