How Will the License Suspension Work for Thai Citizen Nichkhun ?

2PM member Nichkhun was involved in a car accident while drunk driving, but although he isn’t the first offender of such cases, the public has been somewhat confused.

The confusion branches from the fact that the singer isn’t Korean, but Thai, leading people to wonder how the punishments will work out.



The one in charge of the case in Seoul’s Gangnam Police Agency told enews on July 24, “It is true that there was an accident. Although he isn’t a Korean citizen, because he had not an international license but a Korean license, the same punishment [of license suspension] applies. It will not affect his visa.”

Nichkhun was driving home on July 24 after drinking two glasses of beer when he was involved in a car accident with a motorcycle. The police’s measurements revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of about 0.056 percent, leading to the suspension of the singer’s license.

Nichkhun gained his Korean license in 2010 through the MBC variety show We Got Married, in which he challenged himself to gain a Korean license with his virtual wife f(x)’s Victoria.
