Cha Tae Hyun opened up on why he decided to return to comedy films.
The actor appeared at the press roundtable for the film Gone with the Wind held on July 25 in Seoul. For the film, he played the role of Lee Duk Moo, the strategist.
Cha Tae Hyun said, “It was a period piece but it was fun, and I decided to appear in it because I believe I fit best in comedy films. I personally like comedy films. It may sound funny, but I believe that a lot of people want me to appear in such films.”
“I didn’t want to strain myself and go for a big transformation. It’s my first comedy film in five or six years since Highway Star. You can look forward to it,” he said.
He also added, “We had a hard time shooting the film because we had to shoot the summer scenes in winter. We had to keep ice in our mouths because we could see our breaths.”
Gone with the Wind is a comedy film about how a team attempts to steal the ice being kept in the traditional ice cellar, Seobinggo. Oh Ji Ho, Go Chang Seok, Sung Dong Il, Shin Jung Geun, Song Jong Ho and Lee Chae Young will also star in the film. It will premiere on August 9.
