It’s just been confirmed that the Chinese special for ‘We Got Married‘ will be broadcasting in Korea.
On February 15th, MBC announced that the Chinese ‘We Got Married’ episode will air in South Korea on the 25th at 5:15 p.m. The episode originally aired through SMG (Shanghai Media Group) on the 14th as a local Valentine’s Day special.
For this broadcast, T-ara‘s Hyomin and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun will be making a special appearance on the panel alongside regular MCs, Park Mi Sun, Kim Jung Min, and Kim Na Young.
The Chinese version of ‘We Got Married’ has already gathered much attention both in Korea and in China, as it paired mainland stars with Hallyu idols. Out of the three couples, two featured Korean idols — T-ara’s Hyomin and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun. Hyomin became the ‘wife’ of Fu Xin Bo, while Kyuhyun was coupled with Lou Yi Xiao. The remaining pair was comprised of popular MC Jin Wei and Zhu Chi Dan.
For the Korean broadcast, however, only the cuts of Hyomin and Kyuhyun’s couples will be shown.
The Chinese ‘We Got Married’ special is part of MBC’s project to celebrate 20 years of friendly diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. After the initial broadcast in China, the local press has touted, “Korea’s top variety program, ‘We Got Married’ has finally come to China’“, and “Chinese viewers will no longer have to wait for subbed episodes of Korea’s ‘We Got Married’ to come out“.
