After just 20 days of airing, ticket sales for the Korean blockbuster thriller movie ‘The Thieves’ starring big names like Kim Hye Soo, Lee Jung Jae, Jun Ji Hyun, Kim Soo Hyun, and many more are now nearing the 9.5 million mark.
According to the statistics released today, total ticket sales for ‘The Thieves’ on August 12th amounted to 241,366, with the accumulated ticket sales now totalling 9,478,852, and there’s optimism that the 10 million mark will be surpassed within this week.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Cha Tae Hyun’s ‘The Grand Heist’ and Joo Ji Hoon’s ‘I Am King’ brought in tickets sales of 216,463 (accumulated ticket sales: 1,559,952) and 49,706 (accumulated ticket sales: 542,980) respectively. Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ achieved accumulated ticket sales of 6,121,844, making it the most popular movie series in Korean movie history.
