Yesterday, it was reported that MC and news anchor Han Sung Joo was facing a lawsuit filed by ‘A‘ for locking him in a room and assaulting him for eight hours.
On December 22nd, Han Sung Joo’s lawyers released a press statement to refute the claims and explain their side of the case.
The release states:
“We found out about ‘A’ filing a lawsuit against Han Sung Joo for assault, as well as a request for monetary compensation for the trauma he’s endured from the press. Han Sung Joo and her family did not want to take action against the claims because they regarded it as a personal matter between a man and a woman. We, however, have decided to explain our side of the situation due to the distorted and falsified claims being made by the accuser.
First of all, we would like to state that his claims are not at all true. They were dating with the expectation of marriage and had introduced each other to their respective parents. A, however, began exhibiting aggressive behavior, which eventually led to their break up.
The day that A claims to have been kidnapped and assaulted was the day he had actually stolen the keys to Han Sung Joo’s home, breaking and entering while nobody was home. Han Sung Joo came home later that night, only to be confronted by A with scissors placed against her throat. A demanded that they continue their relationship. Frightened, Han Sung Joo called upon her mother and brother for help. A junior and a couple from their church were also brought in to help the family. A’s claims of assault are false.”
